Needed to learn the basics
I needed to learn the basics of woodburning and knew taking a pyrography class would make it a lot easier to learn. It was while I was working on the practice board that I realized Collin's class was worth it! I'm pretty creative, so now that I have taken this class, I can add woodburning to a lot more things.
Great teacher; learned a lot
I struggled with shading and digging my pen into the wood. I didn't even know I was doing it! I finally felt I could do it when creating the first project of a chipmunk. Collin was a great teacher that gave me lots of help. I love burning and am excited to continue.
From nothing to working on my own

I have been woodburning for the last 10+ years. In 2017, I created my own woodburning business called Xulon Burning, where I wanted to capture the beauty of Africa (the place I grew up) in my art for people to enjoy in there home. In time, I began to realize that many people want to learn how to woodburn, especially how to create detailed artwork but did not know where to learn. That is where my passion for taking what I know and teaching it to others began. I taught my first woodburning class in the fall of 2019. In 2020, I was scheduled to teach several more times but never did because of Covid. After much work, I adapted my art class into an online version. I made the first lesson, The Basics, to be the first of many classes to come. Watch this video to learn a little more about me.
